Responsibilities

Oversee the cost accounting function, including the development and maintenance of standard costing systems.
Analyze manufacturing costs and variances to identify areas for improvement and cost reduction opportunities.
Prepare and review cost reports and variance analysis for management review.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls related to cost accounting processes.
Manage inventory accounting processes, including valuation, reconciliation, and physical inventory counts.
Monitor inventory levels and aging, and collaborate with supply chain teams to optimize inventory turnover.
Identify obsolete or slow-moving inventory and recommend appropriate actions to minimize write-offs.
Implement inventory control procedures to safeguard inventory accuracy and prevent shrinkage.
Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements related to cost and inventory.
Provide financial analysis and insights on inventory-related matters to support decision-making.
Ensure timely and accurate recording of inventory transactions in the general ledger.
Continuously evaluate existing processes and systems to identify opportunities for efficiency gains and automation.
Participate in cross-functional projects aimed at enhancing cost management practices and inventory control procedures.
Develop and implement best practices for cost accounting and inventory management to drive operational excellence.
Supervise and mentor a team of cost accountants and inventory analysts, providing guidance and support as needed.
Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment focused on achieving departmental goals and objectives.
Conduct performance evaluations, set performance goals, and provide ongoing feedback to team members.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting
Minimum of 4 years of experience in cost accounting, inventory management, or related roles.
Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, inventory valuation methods, and manufacturing processes.
Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced MS Excel skills.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and trends effectively.
Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision in financial reporting.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and lead a team.
